An abandoned village in Jaisalmer was commissioned in the late 13th century by the Paliwal Brahmins. It is located around 18 kilometers away from Jaisalmer city which got abandoned by the late 19th century. The main reason behind the abandoned village could be water scarcity. Since then the village acquired the title of the haunted village because it became a curse ghost town.

Many unnatural activities happen in the village that has gathered an attraction of many ghost hunters and intrepid paranormal societies. Kuldhara Village acquires a major attraction of tourists and local visitors of Jaisalmer.
