Gadsisar Lake
One of the mightiest rulers of Jaisalmer, Maharawal Gadsi Singh constructed this lake in 1400 AD. The lake was named after the Maharaja which is now one of the major attractions of Jaisalmer. Gadsisar Lake was constructed with a motive of rainwater conserving reservoir at that times which was later the only water source for the whole city.
The beautiful lake is situated on the outskirts of Jaisalmer and is surrounded by the ruins, cenotaphs, ghats, gardens, etc. In the months of winters, exotic range of bird species migrates over the lake which attracts major attention of birdwatchers and nature lovers.
